March Meeting

 

The Board of County Commissioners meet in regular session on Monday, March 19, 2007 at the Benton County Courthouse at 6:00 P.M.

 

The second of two readings Resolution approving a WHEEL TAX in the amount of $35.00 to be levied on each motor driven vehicle and motorized bicycle (0220-11) passed 12-5-1.

The commissioners voting yes were: Vickie Howe, Stephen Stokes, Sam Rainwaters, Randy Patton, Jo Jones, Roger Pafford, Barry Barnett, Robert Pace, Lawrence Atkins, Ronnie Pierce, Mar Steinbuck and Gary Evans.

The Commissioners voting no were:  Eddie Griggs, William McDaniel, Sonny Hall, Perry Hensley and Randall Clark

Resolution appointing Lawrence Atkins, Dan Wyatt, Dickie Bivens, Alvin Smothers and Darrell Berry to the Zoning Board (0319-01) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution reappointing Irice Jones and Melody Cochran to the Library Board (0319-02) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution appointed John Whitworth to the E911 Board to fill the unexpired term of Pat Goodman. (0319-03) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution budgeted funds in the amount of $45,178.97 received by the Sheriff’s Department from drug seizures (0319-04) Amended to $3,643.94 and Passed 18-0

 

Resolution budgeted funds in the amount of $41.66 received by General Sessions Court from a refund for ankle bracelets. (0319-05)

Resolution budgeted funds in the amount of $200 received by the Animal Shelter from a donation. (0319-06)

Resolution budgeted funds in the amount of $14,880 received by the Board of Education for a refund from workers comp. premiums. (0319-07)

Resolution budgeted funds in the amount of $10,000 received by the Board of Education from a donation from the Clayton Foundation and the Bank of Camden. (0319-08)

Resolution budgeted funds in the amount of $500 received by the Board of Education from a donation from the Clayton Foundation to the Adult Education Program. (0319-09)

Resolution budgeted funds in the amount of $20,000 received by the Board of Education from the state for an increase in insurance premiums. (0319-10)

Resolution transferred funds in the amount of $5,000 from special debt service to the Highway Department to purchase road signs. (0319-11) Passed 16-0-2

 

Resolution appropriated funds in the amount of $170 from the general fund for rabies and animal control to complete the current fiscal year. (0319-12) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution appropriated funds in the amount of $3,185 from the general fund for the Senior Citizens Center Deputies to complete the current fiscal year. (0319-13) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution appropriated funds in the amount of $500 from the general fund for the Senior Citizens Center custodial supplies to complete the fiscal year. (0319-14) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution appropriated funds in the amount of $1,100 from the general fund for county buildings part-time personnel to complete the current fiscal year. (0319-15) Passed 17-0-1

 

Resolution appropriated funds in the amount of $28,750 from the general fund to establish a drug court. (0319-16) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution authorized Wiseman to enter into a contract with Community Development Partners, LLC. to provide administrative management services as require to implement the 2007 HOME Partnership Grant. (0319-17) 17-0-1

 

Resolution appropriated funds in the amount of $40,000 in order for the jail medical claims account to complete the current fiscal year. (0319-18) Passed 18-0

 

Resolution transferred funds in the amount of $5,000 from Emergency Management dispatchers to Sheriff’s Department dispatchers in order to complete the current fiscal year. (0319-19) Passed 18-0
