In other business:
A resolution is to come before the commission next month to take
3% of the funds returned to the county general fund from TRRD to be used for
Drug and Alcohol Education and Treatment Programs.
Also a study will be done to determine if Benton County can enact
a 2000 ft. rule prohibiting sales of liquor by the drink within 2000 ft. of a
school, church, or public gathering place.
Also a motion was passed that the new contract with West Tennessee
Healthcare come be approved by the commission before being signed. That the
county strictly enforce all the terms of HCMC's bid
including a station in Big Sandy and a First Responder Program, and that the
contract not include a first right of refusal clause.
